People in the UK are paid a decent wage; therefore we don't need to tip anyone for anything.
Tipping is either for when you don't want the spare change or when you actually received good service or feel sorry for the person who's done something for you.Is it customary to tip the person doing your nails in the nail bars in Edinburgh (UK)?
Aboslutely not. As a race, we are well known for being exceedingly tight (especially Aberdonians) with money and tipping is greatly frowned upon. Why do you think cabbies are so pleased when their fare isn't Scottish.
Maybe.
Absolutely - BUT - only if you feel you've received good service.
It's not compulsory !
of course.
